Ms. Knutson is both a clinician and healthcare administrator with over 25 years of dedication to the advancement of integrative healthcare. Ms. Knutson is founder and president of Integrative Healthcare Solutions LLC, a consulting firm that partners with individuals and organizations to develop and advance sustainable integrative health initiatives. In addition, she is senior director of health and wellness services for Touchstone Mental Health in Minneapolis, MN, where in 2014 she opened a Community Integrative Mental Health Center. Ms. Knutson is the founding executive director (2002-2011) for the Penny George Institute for Health and Healing, Allina Health, Minneapolis, MN, named the largest integrative health program in the U.S.
Ms. Knutson was instrumental in the infrastructure and database development that led to a $2.5 million National Institutes of Health grant to study integrative pain management in the acute care setting. She has presented nationally and internationally on several topics including the development of integrative healthcare programs and services. Ms. Knutson is an advisor to the Academic Consortium of Complementary and Alternative Healthcare, and editorial board member of Global Advances in Health and Medicine. She has co-authored several book chapters and published peer-reviewed articles.
Ms. Knutson is the founder of the Transformative Nurse Training program, an integrative nursing curriculum that has trained thousands of nurses including those within California Veteran Administration Hospital’s and Mayo Clinic. In 2006, the American Holistic Nurses Association honored Ms. Knutson as the Holistic Nurse of the Year.
